Today I rode an elephant!
This has been on my 'Things to do before I die' list since a very young age and today in Laos, I could finally tick it off!
Bravely, I jumped at the chance to 'drive' the elephant instead of the guide! I was very intrigued by the elephant's extremely squashy head... Squashy and hairy. Felt weird. 
Aside from the Animal Rights concerns floating around our heads (not because of any mistreatment that we saw, but because we don't know how we feel about taking elephants away from their herds for the sake of tourism), we had a wonderful time even though it was dark and had turned into something of a night-time safari!
